Valuable Life Lessons

My favorite part of this years golf event was having my son's with me.  I have always tried to show them, instead of tell them things that will enrich their lives.  What they learned at the Danny Foundation Golf Event was priceless.  They learned that a strong family stays together and helps each other out no matter what. They learned that children with disabilities, or disabling diseases are funny, and smart and hang out just like them.  They learned that adults with disabilities can be married, employed, funny and lead normal lives.  They learned that friends are friends, and when needed they will fly from as far as Dallas to help each other out.  They learned that $800 dollars is a lot of money but sometimes it is better to give it back for a gift that will bring much more joy to someone else. They learned that you may in your life win a once in a lifetime free cruise, but there is someone else nearby that can use it far more then you can.  They learned that their Dad was not the only bad golfer, but golfing can be fun if done for the right cause .  They learned that the FDNY without even knowing the child, will fly to Florida to participate in such a worthwhile event,,, just when you think they have given all they can give.  

They learned that a mother and father's love for their son is so strong, that no matter how much time it takes, no matter how much work it takes, no matter what the struggle....they will endure it, in trying to find a cure.

It is a blessing knowing everyone at the event, I look forward to seeing you all again.
